Salzburg, Austria - the City of Mozart

One of my many favorite destinations is Salzburg, Austria. Salzburg is on the border of

Germany, with views of the Eastern Alps. The city is divided by the Salzach River, with

medieval and baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old City) on its left bank,

facing the 19th-century Neustadt (New City) on its right.

I love the small town feeling and the town is so rich in Mozart. One of my favorite

Christmas Market locations is Salzburg.

The photo is the stunning Hohensalzburg Fortress that stands guard over beautiful Salzburg, known as the City of Mozart, and is the largest fully preserved castle in Central Europe. It is over 900-years old and also serves as the venue for the famous Salzburg Fortress Concerts.
